Artists of the Global Matrix:

Between his involvement in "Global Matrix II" in 2007 and 2012, Verapong Sritrakulkitjakarn's (Thailand) woodcuts have shifted from a densely modeled, meaty, almost visceral fruit form to a more enigmatic depiction of a dreamscape with subtly layered progressions between sky, horizon, middle and foregrounds, and suggestions of a figural presence “speaking” or spewing forth an intricate tree. Moving away from reduction color printing, which narrowed and defined progressively smaller areas in the same form, to multiple separately cut blocks has contributed to reducing the monolithic image into a more veiled and loosely structured scene.
