ArtCart at Walnut Elementary

Wish I could show you more...
The beaming smiles of these 1st graders would tell the story of their participation with Purdue Galleries ArtCart on Monday. ArtCart staff Craig Martin and Liz Erlewine, coordinator of the Patti and Rusty Rueff Galleries, along with ArtCart volunteer supreme Dwayne Daehler and 5 - 6 family volunteers, spent the day making woodblock prints at Walnut Elementary in Southmont Schools. We met with 215 terrific young people from grades K - 6 and art teacher Amanda Ellenberger. It made for a long but very satisfying day. All you need are the proud smiles and numerous kids proudly present you with their print, saying "Look what I did!," to make the day worthwhile.

ArtCart hits the road again tomorrow to meet with Mrs. Ellenberger's classes at Ladoga Elementary. If you're ever moved by the spirit of young people stepping into an art project and emerging with beautiful and proud results, contact us at galleries@purdue.edu about volunteering with ArtCart. (More on Ladoga later this week...)
